Different types of hair loss
The loss of hair can take place in a variety of ways. Both the causes and the effects differ between individuals due to genetics and environment. Specifically, female hair loss tends to be very different from male hair loss. In men, baldness is not uncommon and hair can recede in a normal way in a process called Androgenic alopecia. In women however, hair usually thins out over time and the hairline doesn't recede.
The effects of hair loss on the psychology of women is also very different. While it is an accepted fact that men go bald over time, for women the hair means much more and is a representation of herself. Along with hair loss, the loss of self esteem takes place as well. An understanding of the various causes can help a woman come to terms with her condition as well as educate her on how to cope with it.
